Un mwcamanvantara (mwcqsanscrito: मन्वन्तर), nella mwcgcosmologia induista, è un periodo ciclico di tempo che identifica la durata, il regno o l'età di un mwcwManu, il progenitore dell'umanità. In ogni manvantara nascono e muoiono sette mwdarishi, alcune divinità, un mwdqIndra, un Manu e alcuni re.cite-ref-1[1] Ogni manvantara è contraddistinto dal Manu che governa/regna su di esso, e l'epoca contemporanea consiste nel settimo manvantara di quattordici, che è governato da Vaivasvata Manu.cite-ref-manu-2-0[2]cite-ref-3[3]

Manvantara, yuga e kalpa
Ogni manvantara dura 306.720.000 anni (852.000 anni divini; 1 anno divino = 360 anni solari) e ripete settantuno cicli mwhgyuga (età del mondo). In un mwhwkalpa (giorno di mwiaBrahma), che dura 4,32 miliardi di anni (12 milioni di anni divini o 1.000 cicli yuga), ci sono un totale di quattordici manvantara (14 x 71 = 994 cicli yuga), dove ciascuno è seguito da e preceduto da un manvantara-sandhya (quindici sandhya) con ogni sandhya che dura 1.728.000 anni (4.800 anni divini; la durata del Satya Yuga). Teosofia
Il concetto è stato ripreso dalla mwmwteosofia, per la quale ogni mwnamanvantara costituisce una «catena planetaria» composta da 7 mwnqstadi chiamati «globi», che vengono a loro volta attraversati dall'mwngevoluzione cosmica per 7 volte, ossia 7 «ronde» secondo la terminologia della mwnwBlavatsky (per un totale di 49), in base a un andamento a mwoaspirale.cite-ref-7[7]
Attualmente ci troveremmo nel quarto giro di ronda, e nel quarto globo, che consiste nell'incarnazione mwpgfisica della mwpwTerra; ogni globo vede l'mwqaevoluzione umana passare attraverso sette cosiddette «mwqqrazze radici», o sotto-cicli, ognuna delle quali inaugurata dal capostipite mwqgManu; nell'attuale globo si sarebbero finora succedute cinque razze.cite-ref-8[8]
